Financial Assistance

About the Programs

There are two agri-food export funding programs offered by our governmental partners, one by the Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ) and the other by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAC). Management of these programs is entrusted to the Agri-Food Export Group Québec–Canada, based on a partnership established with MAPAQ and AAC over 10 years ago.

Through these programs, businesses can obtain a grant to help finance the essential steps in their development as exporters. This funding covers various export activities including participation in international trade shows, market exploration, in-store product demonstrations, design of promotional material, and so on.

Exportateurs de classe mondiale Program (MAPAQ)

2017-2018 funds for the Exportateurs de classe mondiale 2015-2018 Program are available.  Companies can submit a fund request for their projects.

The Exportateurs de classe mondiale Program provides financial assistance to agri-food enterprises for market development activities. To be eligible, the business must be legally incorporated and have its head office in Québec. Its main activity must be to process or market Québec agri-food products, must have the ability to export and have marketed its products for at least two years.

A business may not receive more than $50,000 per year in funding for its combined activities, and there is a maximum of $100,000 funding for a period of three consecutive years.

AgriMarketing Program (AAC)

The AgriMarketing Program - Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Component (SME) from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada provides non-repayable contributions of up to $50,000 per year for companies to undertake export market development activities, including activities in the United States.

Important: Please note that the Agri-Food Export Group no longer administers the SME Component of the AgriMarketing Program..
